20/07/08 - Richie and Kev were going out for a mornings Greenlaning, and I jumped at the invitation to come along! ;)

8.30am and the Vitara decides not to start again... seems to have suffered after drowning it in the lake at Farley Quarry... so the battery's always going flat due to an electrical fault somewhere... so in comes the Big GeeVee to give the Vit a jump!

Soon going, and arrive on time to meet Rich (front) and Kev (middle) at the "Corwen CarWash" - a nice river ford...

Just going in and getting the tyres wet...

The view from the otherside! (Thanks to Richie for these two pictures ^v )

Nice bow wave...

Looking back it's quite a wide crossing... not the barbed-wire that the farmer has had to put up to stop people playing in the river!

Start of the infamous Wayfarer's route... coming up the tight rocky / walled route...

Feels tighter than it looks!

Up at the top...

... and parked up for a group photo... 3 white Vitaras! It's a bit of a joke in the club - www.shropshire-suzuki.co.uk - that WHITE is the right colour for Vitaras ;)

Stunning backdrop isn't it?

Snaking in between the rocks...

We eventually go over the peaks you can see in the distance... this is one long greenlane! 7 miles in fact! :)

Down a hill and through the stream...

Lane is wet in parts...

Wetter still!...

Lined up on the bridge to open yet another gate! LOL

:)

Stunning scenery!

Our goal is still the horizon!

And even when we reach the top... our next goal is the horizon again! :)

At the top, the "Wayfarer" sign, and the visitors box with the rock on the top... the box is full of visitors books, photos and business cards, etc...

Umm, yes, you guessed it... next goal the horizon again! ;)

One of my favourite drives this... perfect for a nice Sunday morning greenlaning...

Nearing the end...

And onto another lane... the sign says it all... Super!

We've just risen up through some spooky dark woods, only the photos didn't come out! :(

Yet another gate... good exercise though... Richie opens them, I close them! LOL

Stunning vegetation... looks like a jungle!

... these lanes don't see much traffic!

Getting rougher!

And rougher...

Another one of Richie's pictures... roofrack looks good! :D

Yet another lane...

Steep climbs again...

Photo doesn't do the colours justice... an awesome sight with the sun coming through the trees...

Another overgrown lane!

Finished! Parked behind the Co-Op (supermarket) to pick up some supplies... before we head round to Kev's where is wife Sue has made sausage and bacon butties and hot steaming tea! THANKS SUE! ;)
